The Output Format Configuration DDE tab enables you to specify parameters to be used with the current DDE (Dynamic Data Exchange) output format.
What do you want to do?
The DDE tab contains the following elements:
Application Name: the name of the executable program (without the extension) of the Windows Application used.
For example: EXCEL for EXCEL, WINWORD for WORD and so on.
Topic Name: the name of the topic for the Windows Application used.
For example: SYSTEM for EXCEL, WORD.
File Filter: the file filter to be used when looking for the Windows Application document.
For example: Word Documents (*.doc)|*.doc|| or Excel files (*.xls)|*.xls||
Default Extension: the default extension to be used for the Windows Application
For example: DOC for WORD, XLS for EXCEL.
Data Format: the following formats are available: Text, CSV, Rich Text Format.
Field Separator: the separator for each field, for example the comma , or semicolon ; characters.
Time Out: enables the user to specify the time out period in seconds for:
Application Loading: the required time to load the Windows Application when the application is not already started.
Poke Data: the time in seconds needed to write the data into the Application document (DDE protocol).
Set Headings: if the Set Headings option is enabled, then the Heading text will not be inserted before the data in the destination document. If the Set Headings option is disabled, then the destination starting cell will receive the heading text.
Note: it is possible to create two identical output formats, one writing the heading text and another which does not write the heading text.
