Alphanumeric field (Cross Table Wizard - Step 3)
Column or Row
If you move an alphanumeric field in the Cross Table Wizard Step 3 to the columns or rows location, you can then, if necessary, make a double click on that field to display the Group Field dialog box:
The Group Field will apply to the entire value.
Note the <Delete> button that can be used to remove the field in the Column or Row areas. You can also press the <Del> key to remove a field in these areas.
Data
If you move an alphanumeric field in the Cross Table Wizard Step 3 to the data location, a CountVal function is applied by default to that text field. You can then, if necessary, make a double click on that field to display the Group Field dialog box and modify the function to another:
For a text field the following functions can be applied:
The Minimum value for that field: the lower value in alphabetic order.
The Maximum value for that field: the higher value in alphabetic order.
The CountVal value for that field: the number of not null occurrence for the field.
The Count(*) value for that field: the total number of occurrence for the field, including null values.
Note the <Delete> button that can be used to remove the field in the Data area. You can also press the <Del> key to remove a field in this area.
