Link view to…

To link the view currently selected to another existing view, (for example link a graph view to an existing grid view), use the command <Edit> <Link view to…> or make a right mouse click on the required view and select the <Link to…> command.

The view will be automatically updated by the view on which it is now linked to.

An unlinked view is directly updated by the cube data and can contain its own dimensions, measures and filter fields.

A linked view is updated by the dimensions, measures and filter fields of the view on which the link is defined.

Warning: if you unlink a view, the view will be reinitialized. There is no «Undo » command for that action, but if you link again immediately this view to the previous one, you have lost nothing.

Note that when a view is linked to another one, the view tab displays a special link icon (node).

That icon doesnappear on an independent view.
